No Place Like That Yellow Brick Road
Two local Houston artists, Vena Ashley and Gretchen McDaniel, teamed up to present No Place Like That Yellow Brick Road, an art show that was helpd on March 21. 2015 based on one of their favorite children’s books and movie — The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In this show, artists each created a piece based on their interpretation of the story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Visual artists interpreted the many ideas found in THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ. This story, in all its versions, means something different to everyone who has read the book, seen the movie or watched the play. Some find political or spiritual meaning, a sense of home, true family or friendship, while others simply enjoy the story and characters.
